Television actors are now wrapping up their TV careers and moving to make a debut in Bollywood. There aren’t a lot of them, but the ones who have chosen the path of Bollywood are already all set to make a debut this year. Television’s beloved Naagin – Mouni Roy is one of the successful TV actors who is making her Bollywood debut in ‘Gold’ opposite Akshay Kumar this year.
While there are some TV actors who accepted big banner Bollywood movies and are all set to conquer the world of glamour, there are also a few who turned down Bollywood offers. We simply cannot deny that fact that currently, even the Television Industry is emerging as big as the Bollywood Industry.
Agreeing with the same notion, here’s a list of the telly stars who chose to stay in TV Industry by turning down Bollywood movie offers.
1. Karan Tacker
In the past, there has been rumored of this hottie making his Bollywood debut with ‘Student of the Year 2’. Yes, you heard it right, but let us tell you that the extremely good-looking actor was offered the role of an antagonist in SOTY 2 and he refused it. We clearly have no clue on why would anyone reject an offer like that, but we do understand that the actor must be having his own personal reasons to do so.
2. Drashti Dhami
The Madhubala of Television Industry, Drashti Dhami was offered the lead role in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Returns’ but she refused it. Later, the film, of course, went on to Bollywood’s Bebo Kareena Kapoor. When the actress was asked about it, she said, ” I have no time for anything else. I don’t even get to take a day off.” This was the time when the beautiful actress was said to be earning a whopping amount of Rs 80,000 per episode!
Why wouldn’t she deny the Bollywood offer, right?
3. Mohit Raina
Mohit Raina, the beast who was known to the world for his magnificent acting as Lord Shiva in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev and Mahabharat, was offered a role in Bipasha Basu’s ‘Creature 3D’. There’s no clear reason on why the actor denied the offer, but it seemed OK that he did not accept it. (#iykwim)
4. Mrunal Thakur
The KumKum Bhagya actress, Mrunal Thakur, turned down a role in ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ last year. The interesting fact here is, while Mrunal denied the offer, Actor Aamir Khan was quite keen on welcoming her on board. By turning down TOH, Mrunal instead chose to work with Hrithik Roshan in his film ‘Super 30’. Talking about her working experience with Hrithik, the actress says, “It truly feels like a dream come true and the beginning of a special journey. I am extremely excited and grateful to be working with Hrithik, Vikas Bahl, Phantom, and Sajid Nadiadwala for my first Bollywood film.”
