Following the box office success of the action drama starring Ranbir Kapoor, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga secured the second spot, while animal actress Triptii Dimri topped IMDb’s weekly list of popular Indian celebrities, the online entertainment database platform announced in a post on Tuesday. IMDb just posted a list of well-known Indian celebrities on Instagram. Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor, who appear in The Archies, are ranked third and fourth, respectively, on the list.
According to IMDb’s official Instagram account, over 200 million people worldwide vote for Indian actors, directors, cinematographers, and writers on a list of internationally popular content. The ranking is based on page views on the platform.
Rajkumar Hirani and Zoya Akhtar are ranked 31st and 37th, respectively, on the list. The 25th spot was held by comedian Kanan Gill, who most recently acted in the Netflix holiday movie Christmas as Usual.
Triptii has been in the news for her appearance in Animal. She received great praise for her performance in Laila Majnu (2018), Bulbul (2020), and Qala (2022). She plays a villain in the movie who is dispatched by Ranbir’s (Ranvijay’s) adversaries to entice him into joining a plot.
